i've been itching for some change lately.
i think it's the onset of fall and the gemini in me.
i've always desperately needed and feared change all at the same time, being the eternal contradiction that i am.
there's no fear involved in the changes i have coming up though. i'm just ready to enjoy them:
- school starts on 31 august where i'll be dancing, playing tennis, learning how to paint, and learning to speak french (all thanks to budget cuts and the unavailability of more "academic" classes)
- levi and i can finally afford to start cooking healthy meals at home so i'm committing to it
- i will be losing 15 unwanted pounds this semester
i am so very ready.
and i'm getting ready for the change today by finally going back to school supply shopping.
yippeeee!
It's the time of year, and it's exhilarating/scary/calming to me.
ReplyDeleteLove supply shopping!
Hey even if it isn't very academic at least it will be fun! :)
ReplyDeleteBack to school shopping: that's really the best! I love the smell of freshly sharpened pencils. Hm. You're making me miss school.
ReplyDeleteWith all that tennis and dance you will definitely lose that weight! And the eating healthy! Woo! GO YOU! I need to lose waaay more than that. lol Good luck at school!
ReplyDeleteChange can be just what we need. Another layer gone...getting closer to our TRUE selves...shifting shaping, moving, growing...changing. Opening yourself to the change is a GREAT way to start...let it all pour in, what ever it looks like. I had been my experience that it is rarely the way I envisioned it...but I have LEARNED to recognize it just the same.Blessing, Love and Light to you on this next part of your journey Jasmine.
ReplyDeleteMy final semester in college was similar to the one you have now. I took bowling, social dance, step aerobics, volleyball and one academic course. Best.semester.ever.
ReplyDeleteI think you should post all of the yummy healthy recipes you try. I need some ideas. I just made a delicious, healthy meal last night that you should try. Check it out here (sorry I don't know how to do the fancy links in the comment box: http://www.marthastewart.com/portal/site/mslo/menuitem.fc77a0dbc44dd1611e3bf410b5900aa0/?vgnextoid=7e0aef75ad571110VgnVCM1000003d370a0aRCRD&vgnextfmt=default
It says it serves one, but I used an 8oz filet and a bigger zucchini and it was plenty big for two people.
Being a fellow Gemini, I can totally relate to your issues with change. I feel that I'm always searching searching searching for something. Then when I find it I feak out! :) Enjoy your weekend dear!
ReplyDeletei'm with yuou on the 15 unwanted lbs! im also very jealous of your fun classes you're taking. im stuck with the boring ones ;)
ReplyDeleteohhh i love the back to school time of year. i'm excited about school. nervous. nervous, yes nervous. don't forget to make that salsa i sent you! ;)
ReplyDeleteyou definitely don't NEED to lose weight, but I 100% understand wanting that extra weight off for the sake of feeling better about yourself. good luck! maybe you should post about it and inspire me? it's always easier to lose weight with friends!
ReplyDeletewe (people our age) are entering our Saturn Return. That's another reason....I went to a fun psychic last weekend. Can you tell? :)
ReplyDeleteI am with you on the 15lbs. That's my goal too. I had been eating way too much junk food during my finals at college. :)
ReplyDeleteI love your enthusiasm over school! If only some of that would rub off on me, who's not looking forward to my first day back at all. But there's always the bright side - school supplies! I LOVE them too... there's something about writing on that first page of a notebook. It's the best!
ReplyDeletehey. so i've been talking to some people about us posting really simple healthy meals on a group blog--posting the ingredients as the keywords so we can look recipes up by things we have in the house.
ReplyDeletelet me know if you want to play too!
also a gemini...love change and the excitement it brings...
ReplyDeleteI am in an almost same exact position as you~ Losing weight, starting school, school supply shopping, and needing change. Good luck to the both of us.
