an indoor bonfire

apparently, we're lazy.

we wanted to have a bonfire but didn't want to leave the house.

so we cooked hot dogs and marshmallows over the flame on our stove.

my marshmallows caught on fire.

yes, we make our s'mores with saltines. we like a little salty with our sweet.

definitely not as good as a real bonfire, and we really have no excuses since it's summer, and we live by the beach.

but it will come in handy this winter!

  2. Sweet! I want to make s'mores.

Funny story re: bonfires and fires in general. We were at this Chinese resto and asked for a claypot dish, which came out over a mini flame. At some point during the meal, the flame started getting jumpy, and I was nervous that the whole table was going up in flames. So I flagged the waitress, who came over and gave us a roll of the eyes, and tried to use our teacups to put out the fire. When that didn't work, she stuck my PAPER NAPKIN into the flame. Which DUH didn't help. In fact, the napkin caught on FIRE, which she then rolled across the table, which kind of erupted slowly into a mini fire. Which we promptly threw our tea on.

So the moral of the story? do not make yourself an indoor bonfire. Could be very dangerous.

  9. My sister, Lori is so like that. In fact we rented a fancy penthouse at the beach and she decided she wanted grilled garlic bread, so she used the burner for the grill lines...heheh.I was ready to kill her but she is too hilarious and I love it when she gets her crazy ideas because it inspires so much fun and moments to remember and giggle at. xoxo

  21. what an adventurous couple you are! now I want to have an indoor bonfire too, but as they used to call me clumsy, and because my husband keeps saying - you can do anything you want, except don't burn down our house, I think I shoud keep myself from making indoor bonfires.

  23. Okay, I totally did this earlier this summer with marshmallows & set off the fire alarm in the entire building. I felt pretty bad when I looked out the window and actually saw people standing outside, hahaha! I'm terrible. It was delish, though.
