barefoot contessa

i am totally addicted to the food network.

and i have waaaay too much time on my hands.

and i don't know if you've noticed or not, but i'm kind of obsessed with food.

so when i saw that ina garten's biography was on chefography last night, i glued myself to the television. her story really inspired me.

i love her so much.

her voice is just so soothing.

i made her macaroni and cheese once, and oh my gosh, best macaroni and cheese ever!

and i'm sorry, but i never noticed how beautiful she was before. she is just lovely.

who's your favorite food network personality?

p.s. i finally picked up a copy of julie & julia. i had been meaning to for about 6 months, but i'm slow sometimes. i'm going to finish it before seeing the movie in the theatre!

  8. I watch food network all of the time...I love it so much! I love, love, love Bobby Flay. He used to rub me the wrong way, but now I love him.

Oh and I want to eat everything that Paula Deen makes...my kind of food!

I miss Emeril, I went to a book signing of his once! I do not like Giada anymore...I saw her on a group show they did like on Hawaii, and she was so mean and bossy to all of the other people!!

  17. Ina Garten...oh man...I watched her for the first time in a LOOOOONG time this week, and I just thought she was really pretentious. Her voice is soothing, but if I had to hear her say Jeffrey one more time, I was going to throw something at the television.

    Her food's delicious, though!

  19. Paula Deen my friend, she is the best.
Once, she made a breakfast sandwich.
    No ordinary sandwich.

    Egg? check.
    Bacon? check.
    Cheese? double check.

But what will the bun be? What, Paula? Tell me!
    Better be....TWO KRISPY KREME DONUTS.
    No kiddin'

    Go, Paula!!!!
Thanks for the cute post! Ina is so cute.

  22. I just recently started watching The Food Network, and yes I am hooked! It's the best cure for depression and bad moods. I love Ina, she is so lovely, indeed. I'm still getting to know the others so I can't really say yet which are the favorites!

  23. I like the gang from Ace of Cakes. But honestly, as far as food shows go, I prefer the Travel Channel with Bourdain, Guy, and the others. I just cracked open a bottle of wine and then read your post. Blogging here: http://choosetoshine.blogspot.com

  24. Ok...I hope I don't get blasted for this but I love Rachel Ray. Of course, if I met her and she was a wanker than to heck with 30 Minute Meals...LOL.

However, I like Paula Deen, too...y'all. She is somehow all my mother's sisters rolled into one. She makes me happy...and hungry.

Yet, I must concur with most, Ina hypnotizes you to cook...her voice is full of friendship and caring. I always miss my Granny Ed and macaroni with tomatoes after watching her show.

  26. I've been Food Network obsessed since the 5th grade and I have to say my favorite FN personality is either Giada Dilaurentis (sp?) or Alton Brown. You definitely have to watch the new show "The Best Thing I Ever Ate". It's fabulous.
