i drive an 88 volvo.
his name is little werewolf.
he has a penchant for losing & breaking little bits of his interior.
for example, the cover to the glove compartment.
he is very cold in the winter and broiling in the summer.
he is always hauling half of my worldly possessions.
and he always needs a bath.
he is the best car i've ever had.
tell me about your favorite car!
WooHoo!
ReplyDeleteI'm not so attached to my car...perhaps one day- my dream car is a vintage 1968 Jaguar...ahhh dreamZ* ~XO*
sweet, i love the framing!
ReplyDeleteYour car is amazing. I love how long Volvo's live! My fella and I sold our first married car a year ago, opting to take public trans, but we're quitters, so we're just happy to have ANY car now.
ReplyDeleteI don't have a car and I don't want one,
ReplyDeleteI should take a picture of the old tramways we have here....
:)
that car just looks like it should belong to you!
ReplyDeletei've had the same honda civic since 2003 or 2004, something like that. i can't even remember when i started driving. (: it came with 18 inch rims, and i just thought i was hot stuff so i had to have it asap. it was the first car we looked at and i pouty faced it's way into my driveway. 'ol harley has done good for me. my dream family car is a nissan murano. those things are gorgeous. and my dream play car is a red jeep wrangler. yum, haha.
ps - i tagged you for a little game in my blog. it's kinda sorta like the 7 things you love one, but not totally. (:
that picture is sweet! i love it.
ReplyDeleteSo my now husband (former boyfriend) drove an 83 volvo when we were dating for a while... the glove box was held closed with a pencil and it had a crank sun roof... oh, and the heater would shoot out black smoke. But it was an awesome car.
ReplyDeletei am on the same story as Adeline. I don't have a car and I don't care for one :)
ReplyDeletebut yours is beautiful!
We had one like yours...in yellow, like 7-8 years ago. Sturdy little bugger it was..until it began to rattle of course and my dad donated it or something of the sort. The doors were quite heavy, lol...I remember that. I hope you and little werewolf have many more happy times together! xx
ReplyDeletethanks ______j! it was really fun taking it! cars were driving by wondering what the heck i was doing. :)
ReplyDeleteindie, you are sooooo right about the doors being heavy. SO HEAVY. i usually close them with my hip. i swear i've thrown my shoulder out closing the doors before!
hey! just have seen ur post in a group on 20 something bloggers! and wohoo here I am! really like your blog, photos, stories,.. ;) will come back for sure!
ReplyDeletehave a good day
annina
Popped in from SITS to say hi! My favorite car was my first one. I put it through hell with my terrible driving, and it just chugged along...
ReplyDeletesaw your post over at sits! my favorite car was my first one. it was a brown 1980 dodge omni stick shift with no air conditioning that i bought for $500 and i LOVED. i was so sad when it died during a snowstorm.
ReplyDeleteps - you have great hair!
cool pic but I don't have a favorite car.. humm yet
ReplyDeleteSomething about your pic makes me think of Thriller!
ReplyDeleteMy old 1996 Civic had lots of character. And, by character I mean dents, dings and dangling pieces. The bumper was tied on and the passenger side back door didn't open. My mechanic pronounced it dead a year and a half ago, now I drive a 2007 Civic that thinks it's a jeep.
I have the exact same car! Except she is gold and thus her name is princess goldinia. I bought her my freshman year of college with all the money I saved up from swim lessons. She has been up and down the east coast and is so reliable. She loves riding down country roads and listening to Wilco.
ReplyDeleteThinking about getting a new car ends up bringing tears to my eyes.
Hey Jasmine- I came to visit your blog after reading your list of happiness of Naomi's blog, and I have decided I may have to stop by more often! Love the pic of you with your '88 volvo!
ReplyDelete(I've only had one car- it's my current '04 Pontiac Vibe. I do love the little thing!)
if you live in CA and haven't seen them then what the eff are they doing? do they tour at all?
ReplyDeletep.s. your haircut is amazing.
Great picture! My true favorite car was my Mazda 3, zoom zoom; enough said. My other "favorite" car was my husbands' little gray honda.. the one where the engine dropped out while I was driving it, yeah that was fun.
ReplyDeletehi there! i just found you via rockstar diaries, and you have a fabulous blog. i just added you to my blogroll too! cheers!
ReplyDeletexo nina in boston
new visitor - oooh, i just love old volvos! mine is a 90 honda accord that's got 229K miles. and i can't ever part with it! the huz hates it and tries to bribe the mechanic to knock it out of commission whenever we get an oil change. but it's true love.
ReplyDeletemy favorite car was an ancient nissan sentra.
ReplyDeleteher name was Daloris.
the passenger-side visor just dangled.
(it eventually had to be taken off)
she made the sounds of a push-lawn mower.
and she could do anything.
(it was a very sad day when she broke down in the pouring rain on one of the busiest streets of Idaho. i know what you're thinking - they have busy streets in Idaho? - you bet. i pushed my car off one.)
My car was {sadly, she did not travel to NYC with me} a 1997 Mitsubishi Montero.
ReplyDeleteHer name was Bessy. She was big, and bossy and in the winter her fan belt screeched like a rock star's high notes.
She was a classy champagne gold and once backed over a very small car that was parked behind her. In her defense she couldn't see the teeny white convertible in her rear view mirror... and neither could I. {disclaimer: said flattened car was empty}
We celebrated her 150,000 mile marker with a cupcake and a cruise with the sun roof/windows open and music blaring.
Alas, she now belongs to my younger sister, but I make sure to visit both my sister, and her every few months.
:)
PS, love, love, love your blog and I am green with envy that I could never pull off such a chic hair-cut. sigh.
i love this picture :) so cute, my car is a 99 jeep cherokee. shes still in good shape but i sorta kinda crashed her last year and decided to fix her rather than do away with her. now i have to have her forever and forever cause her title is salvaged. i do love her though, windows still go down, music still blasts out (despite one speaker not working), thats all i need really :)
ReplyDeletesaw your happiness list on Rockstar Diaries, and I love your blog! I think my favorite car would be the VW Cabriolet convertable that I got to drive around Martha's Vineyard a few years ago. I'm not sure of the year, but it was definitely some time in the 80s, and DEFINITELY the most fun driving experience I've ever had!
ReplyDeletegreat blog! thought i would leave a comment to tell you, great job. its alot of fun to hang out on
ReplyDeletemy first car was an 89 volvo. my parents surprised me with it. my last name was Orr so i named my car VOLVORR that what the plate said. i loved it so much. but totalled it when it rained. it was so sad. after i wrecked it, i got out of volvorr and threw up. but that car saved my life. volvos r amazing. xoxo
ReplyDeletetoo awesome! my favorite car was my first car. '82 volvo i named dusty. looks like yours but...well, dustier ;) and for awhile my glove box was held shut with duct tape but he was my first love for sure. thanks for the chance to remember!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite car was an '88 mustang I got from my grandfather. It had cardboard duct tapped to the roof after the moonroof blew off on the highway and I drove it until I had to push it into the driveway. RIP little buddy!
ReplyDeleteBest. picture. ever.
ReplyDelete(!!!)
just found your blog through naomi! so cute! my favorite favorite car was a 94 vw jetta that my sisters and i drove. we re-covered the inside of the roof with a purple tapestry. RIP lil' jet-jet.
ReplyDeleteVolvos are the BEST. I have a Tracker right now, but someday when I grow up and get a real job and make lots of money, I want to buy the Volvo that stops for you.
ReplyDeleteRad picture! I love it.
ReplyDeletethat's awesome! love that little car :) and thank you for commenting on my page...hm I'd have to say that I've always wanted a VW van hehe I just think they're so cool.
ReplyDeleteOoo Volvo! Since I don't own a car right now I guess I'll pick my favorite family car:
ReplyDeleteIt was also a Volvo (they're the). We got it when I was 3. I remember picking it up in Sweden. We kept that volvo for 9 long years. We took it back with us to America and when we found out we were moving to Japan we gave it to an Aunt who trashed the thing within a year.
The end.
P.S. thanks for stopping by :)
My husband drives a '93 volvo and we love it more than my '03 Passat!
ReplyDeletethis photo is CRAZY amazing ^_^
