We didn't get to hang out at Powell's Books (a.k.a. the biggest used bookstore everrrrr) for as long as we'd like, but we did get to visit! I loved looking at all the little knick-knacky stuff they had for sale. When I was a child, I had an eraser collection. My grandma used to buy me erasers shaped like anything and everything. I remember that I loved how they smelled. They smelled a little like candy... to the point where you almost wanted to taste them (what's up with me always wanting to taste inedible objects??). Powell's had all kinds of fun little erasers and notebooks and stickers and all that kinda stuff... oh, they had a lot of books too....
Honestly, we didn't have much time to look at the books. We only spent about 15 minutes inside. Next time!
(These appealed to the editor in me.)
Powell's is located in an area of Portland called The Pearl. While we were walking around The Pearl, I snapped a few photos of buildings and the city. These are my favorites:
I love old buildings.
Powell's is my favorite place to visit when I am in Portland! You could spend all day in that place!

ReplyDeleteI used to live in the Pearl. Such a fun neighborhood with a ton of great restaurants and shops.
ReplyDeleteoh my gosh, i LOVE used bookstores. how sad that you didn't get to stay longer. i'm in desperate need of a nearby used bookstore to browse right now! :)

ReplyDeleteI am desperately in love with that dinnerware set!!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great place to spend the afternoon :) I just stumbled upon your blog, and love it!
ReplyDeleteLove the plates and mugs!
ReplyDeleteOooooh.... Powells!! I definitely have to give myself a budget when I go in there. Love love love that place! It also cracks me up that they literally hand out maps for the store. Any bookstore large enough to need a map is okay by me. ;)
