yesterday was one of those days.
not good.
i don't know what it was, but i was in such a funk.
it's probably mostly due to how bloated and fat i feel lately. and how messy my life feels at the moment. i'm really struggling with getting myself back into a routine.
so anyway, i found some things that helped me through the day:
1. abba
have you ever tried to stay cranky when abba is playing? i think it might be impossible.
2. target
who doesn't love target when they're in a bad mood. if you're in an especially bad mood, sit down and read children's books for a half hour or so.
3. coffee
duh.
4. hunter rain boots
it rained just a little bit today, so i took the opportunity to put my beloved wellies. i also took the opportunity to stand in a gutter full of water just because i CAN!
5. taking charge
so here's the thing: i have a tiny face. if i gain any weight, like even 1/2 a pound, my face bloats up like a boozy old man... well, that's how it looks to me anyway. this and my bloated stomach were what got me into my funk, so i decided to get myself out of it by going on a diet. just for a week or so to get rid of the extra couplefew pounds that are making me so unhappy.
i didn't snap out of it instantly or anything, but these few things were enough to get me through the day. and i'm sure that today will be better because i took charge yesterday.
what do you do to fight the funky and/or bloaty blues?
ug, this is probably TMI but certain times of the month make me super bloaty esp in my face + super grouchy- i fight it off with lots of water, some homeopathic cranberry supplements and chocolate (duh).
ReplyDeleteI hope you feel so much better today!! :)
this. hang it there. it passes.
ReplyDeletei have felt like that for the past few days and nothing made me feel better until i watched valentines day! ha, of all things! for some reason it just snapped me into the best mood ever. hang in there sweety, and dont forget you are gorgeous:)
ReplyDeleteYUCK. I'm so sorry you're feeling icky! It sounds like you have a plan, though, to combat it. Here's hoping it works like a charm!
ReplyDeletei feel fat too. and icky.
ReplyDeletebut the good news is i had wayyyy too much fun with you and levi on saturday. seriously.
awww :( target makes me feel better too... something the boyfriend will never understand.
ReplyDeleteI completely agree with your first three things to get you through. Who doesn't love rocking out to some Abba? And I absolutely can't wait to shop at Target most of the time, especially in the one dollar section. And I agree with the statement on coffee. Duh. Enough said;)
ReplyDeleteI was the SAME way yesterday which was weird because it was finally a warm, sunny day in N. Texas. I just started listening to music, I even think some Abba was in my playlist as well! Anyway, glad you slowly crawled out of the funk as did I. Let's make today an awesome day :)!
ReplyDeleteI love Abba!
ReplyDeleteand Target, we just moved back to America from Japan and there was no Target, I <3 Target, I find myself stopping there every time I pass by.
Glad you found a way through your day! And you are beautiful (I especially love your hair)
Hi there! I've been reading your blog for a while, but haven't commented yet. Congrats on your marriage!
ReplyDeleteI had a day just like yours on Friday... it started with a hole in a brand new pair of tights I hadn't yet worn, continued with feeling fat and ugly, and ended with a fight with my boyfriend. Ugh! Luckily, we made up before bed and I didn't have to go to sleep angry.
In times like these, I find that a walk with a good friend really helps with my perspective - fresh air, exercise, and the chance to vent our problems to each other is a great combination. Also helpful for me is a long nap - when you wake up, it's like starting a fresh new day that doesn't suck as much. Hope all your days this week are better!
i hate those kind of days! i like to get in some comfy yoga pants and go for a hike or long walk near the ocean. 30 minutes of sweating it out on the stairmaster ALWAYS makes me feel better. hope you have a wonderful monday and feel better!
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better!
ReplyDeleteHere's a new print from my etsy shop to cheer you up!
