My Little Weirdo

Cecily rolled over on Sunday! From front to back. She's been rolling over from her tummy for a little while now. Of course, I missed the big roll, and she wouldn't repeat her performance for me until a couple days later. She's been swaddled for bedtime since birth, but I've been terrified of her rolling over in her swaddle since birth too so the swaddle had to go!

We put her to bed with one arm free that night. She played in her crib for about 40 minutes then fell asleep! She kept getting herself into the weirdest position, and I finally got a picture of it yesterday.

Cecily's preferred sleeping position:

I pull her face out of the bars all the time, but she always gets herself back over to them. She is so weird. I love it. She has loved this position since the womb. Remember when we picked out our Christmas tree and the lady at the lot picked her head up for me??

Cecily is a dancer. I just know it.

It's always a little weird when your husband walks in and says, "Hey, watch this. This guy reminds me of you." :\

But, in this case, he's totally right. I'm just like the kayak guy in this American Express commercial.

And Levi is like the salesman... the guy who nods and says, "Oookay."

adios, piñata!

we were all feeling a little bit lazy in the days leading up to easter, so instead of an egg hunt, we opted for an easter piñata.

i got a littttttle bit hyper when piñata time came. i think i saw it as an opportunity to get out all the frustration that had been brewing inside me from being sick for more than 10 days?

whatever the reason, i went aggro on that thing:

no, i didn't keep all the candy. i only took one piece. i can be mature too.

i completely forgot about this video of my sister on her birthday.

we were at target, goofing around, killing time 'til i got to go pick up levi from the airport (he was in north carolina for work).

that should be a nice sendoff to the weekend for you.

since you've all met efferson already, i figured i would introduce you to another one of my inanimate friends.

this is deirdre.

she has a heart on her belly.

she hangs out with my on my keys & keeps me company while i'm driving.

she also helps light the way when i'm looking for something in my purse.

i love her.

(it's so much easier to get attached to inanimate objects when you name them... and i name everything.)

i can't believe i'm posting this. i have no shame.

we cut the ends off of levi's birthday balloons so that we could throw them out. we were trying to get gretel to bounce on them, but all she wanted to do was sniff the helium. so i took over to show her how it's done.

you can play a little game of "spot gretel's toys that are thrown all over the place" while you watch this if you'd like. hint: one's a pumpkin.

i'll probably be embarrassed once people start watching this.

levi & i have been in a silly state of mind for the last couple weeks...maybe it's our way of dealing with stress? maybe it's our way of staying warm?

not sure.

anyway, levi's iPhone is pretty full of silly photos & videos, so i am devoting today to silliness.

i never wear shorts.

this might be my most embarrassing post ever.

it's all for the love of a rainbowed butt.

first of all, i am the goofiest clothes model on the planet. i just never know how to pose, so i do really dorky stuff.

and secondly, i know my bra is visible in a lot of these. i was wearing a pajama shirt that is, apparently, see through when the flash hits it.

anyway, remember my beloved rainbow butt jeans?

i decided to try to repurpose them.

this is how bad they were:

so, i went out to levi's studio to have him cut them into shorts for me.

(super duper fierce.)

here's the thing i never wear shorts.

so, if i ever get brave enough to wear these, this is how i might do so:
