Cambria

I only took 5 iPhone pictures on our trip to Cambria a couple weeks ago. I didn't even take my camera with me to Hearst Castle!!! It was glorious. I felt so free. It felt really relaxing to just walk around and soak everything in, not worrying about pulling my camera out to capture all the beauty around me. It almost felt frivolous... and a bit luxurious. I'm seriously not exaggerating.

Then, we saw a bunch of zebras on PCH on the way back to the hotel... I regretted not having my camera a little bit then...

The zebras were absolutely breathtaking. We even saw a momma zebra nursing her baby!

Levi took some photos on his iPhone at Hearst Castle. I really like this one. Looking at it makes me remember how peaceful I felt standing on that little golden balcony tucked away in a corner of the garden.

William Randolph Hearst really got it right when he named his home La Cuesta Encantada, the enchanted hill. It's truly magical up there.

Our latest trip to Cambria was exactly what we needed. I only wish we could have stayed longer.

road trip

our trip up to paso robles was mostly just spent driving.

good thing it's probably one of the most gorgeous drives in the world.

on the way up, i kept trying to take pictures of everything, and i spent a lot of time reading a magazine. i didn't take the time to just sit and absorb all the beauty around me. i was too distracted.

so, on the way home, i decided i would just look out the window and enjoy it all. i found myself thinking about a lot of random things. those thoughts were distracting too. so i tried to make myself think about nothing except for the things surrounding me.

i sat quietly and just took it all in. it was perfect. so serene and relaxing.

on the road again

levi and i went on a little mini-moon road trip to cambria a few weeks ago. it was our first road trip together!

and it was awesoooooooome.

we packed up a cooler with tons of yummy food:

cheese x a million

crackers

bread

peanut butter & jelly

mini donuts

lemon cookies

red bull

wine

...you know, the essentials.

then we loaded it all into the car with tons of pillows, books, and magazines and set out

ready for adventure.

the drive wasn't that long (only about 5 hours), but it was jam packed with beauty. the central coast of California is God's country. truly gorgeous.

after a coffee break,

a book, and a billion magazines,

we arrived in cambria, ready for an amazing weekend.

right now, we're on our second mini-moon in cambria, CA (central coast). this time, it's a road trip!

i purposely waited 'til friday to finish up our san francisco honeymoon recap because i knew i would be sad and missing that special honeymoon feeling.

i'm excited that we have another weekend to enjoy each other, experience a different place, eat good food, relax, and form new memories of our lives as newlyweds.

you know what's fun?

when your whole family piles into one car for a little excursion to LA, but there's more people than seatbelts, so you get to sit in the way back, with your fiancé's iPhone, a blanket, a donut, & a redbull.

and all your childhood fantasies come true.

vegas....finally!

soooo our friends took us to las vegas a couplefew weeks ago, and i am jusssst now getting around to posting about it.

you might say i've been a little bit overwhelmed & busy lately. :)

anyway, we had the best time on our trip! it was me, levi, and 6 other guys! ha! i was the only girl!

we stayed in a really gorgeous suite at a resort-style hilton at the end of the strip. our room had a big jacuzzi jet tub and a really cool shower with all kinds of jets. one of our hosts, will, even got me mr. bubble to use in my big old bath tub! you know i did. i may have even taken a snack in there...

we spent our days out by the pool and our nights eating super yummy, delicious food (the tasting menu at the red square was DELICIOUS).

it was so fun & relaxing, such a nice, welcome break from reality.

we saw the most brilliant skies on the drive out. there was even an insane lightning storm in the distance for hours. it was gorgeous.

when everyone arrived to the hotel (one couple drove separately and another flew), we all toasted with some dom perignon. fancy!

my favorite part of the trip was visiting the wynn hotel. oh so gorgeous! we sat out by the "lake of dreams" for a couple hours sipping coffee and chatting. and i even tried my first martini ever out there - a dirty martini! salty!

the only thing i regret is that we didn't get one big group picture...so i have to settle for two photos that include the whole crew.

it was such a fun trip. i miss my vegas boys!

we're leaving for las vegas in approximately 6 hours.

some of our friends generously offered to take us, and we're so excited to get away!

hooray!

i'm praying the heat doesn't kill me. i'm not exactly a hot weather lover...and i don't really enjoy gambling...and i'm not a big drinker...haha! but i love food and hotels and the bellagio water show and big city lights and friends and vacation!!
