whilst driving the little werewolf

i was driving today when i was suddenly struck with this very grown up feeling.

i own a car!
i have car insurance!
if i need to go somewhere, i just get in my car and drive!
....'cause i have a driver's license, and i'm allowed to!!

it was like i was 14 again.
for a moment, i felt like i was fooling everyone.

because, honestly most of the time, i feel like i'm just pretending to be a grown up.
in a lot of ways, i'm really still that same 14 year old girl on the inside.

i'll probably still feel the same when i'm 80.

more on the little werewolf (including the exact same photo) here.

  3. Haha, I feel that way all the time! Like, I can ave cake for breakfast if I want, and there's no one to tell me not to! Being a grown up is fun sometimes (but also sucky sometimes).

  5. I feel the same way. When I was buying my condo I kept thinking someone would call me and be like, "you want to buy a CONDO?!?!? HA! You're 12!!!!! No way Jose."

  6. I agree with you. Sometimes, I feel like this little, insecure girl stuck in a body of a going-to-be 20 year old. But there are also times I feel like the oldest person ever.

  7. I was just thinking the same thought the other day! It's easy to forget what a big deal driving actually is. It gives so.much.freedom!

  9. Oh my gosh!
I feel that way all the time. I look around and think. When did this happen? What happened to the awkward pre-teen girl that I use to be. I mostly miss the days as a kid when things were carefree and I didn't have to pay any bills or have any worries.

  10. I can't wait to own a car... my potential PhD supervisor told me I should think of getting one for doing field work, and the idea really stuck in my head... YESSS!
You two look great together :)

  11. I was just talking about this "imposter syndrome" with a pastor friend of mine last night. She said that she sometimes still feels that way, and she felt that way all through the army, like any day she was going to be found out.

    I still feel that way.
