i was driving today when i was suddenly struck with this very grown up feeling.
i own a car!
i have car insurance!
if i need to go somewhere, i just get in my car and drive!
....'cause i have a driver's license, and i'm allowed to!!
it was like i was 14 again.
for a moment, i felt like i was fooling everyone.
because, honestly most of the time, i feel like i'm just pretending to be a grown up.
in a lot of ways, i'm really still that same 14 year old girl on the inside.
i'll probably still feel the same when i'm 80.
more on the little werewolf (including the exact same photo) here.
I hope you always feel like your 14!!
ReplyDeleteI remember this post! I adore it! xo
ReplyDeleteHaha, I feel that way all the time! Like, I can ave cake for breakfast if I want, and there's no one to tell me not to! Being a grown up is fun sometimes (but also sucky sometimes).
ReplyDeleteI know how you feel. Some mornings I wake up and think "holy crap I'm a mom!"
ReplyDeleteI feel the same way. When I was buying my condo I kept thinking someone would call me and be like, "you want to buy a CONDO?!?!? HA! You're 12!!!!! No way Jose."
ReplyDeleteI agree with you. Sometimes, I feel like this little, insecure girl stuck in a body of a going-to-be 20 year old. But there are also times I feel like the oldest person ever.
ReplyDeleteI was just thinking the same thought the other day! It's easy to forget what a big deal driving actually is. It gives so.much.freedom!
ReplyDeletequite the accomplishment....i have none of these.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh!
ReplyDeleteI feel that way all the time. I look around and think. When did this happen? What happened to the awkward pre-teen girl that I use to be. I mostly miss the days as a kid when things were carefree and I didn't have to pay any bills or have any worries.
I can't wait to own a car... my potential PhD supervisor told me I should think of getting one for doing field work, and the idea really stuck in my head... YESSS!
ReplyDeleteYou two look great together :)
I was just talking about this "imposter syndrome" with a pastor friend of mine last night. She said that she sometimes still feels that way, and she felt that way all through the army, like any day she was going to be found out.
ReplyDeleteI still feel that way.
Cutest picture ever!
ReplyDeleteLOVE that picture! I don't think I'll REALLY feel like a grown up til I own a HOUSE!
ReplyDeleteAw! Seeing this picture reminds me of my own dear little Volvo!!! <333
ReplyDeleteI am so glad things are getting a little better for you. you are strong women! love the little werewolf. love!
ReplyDeleteI plan on still feeling like that when I'm 80 as well.
ReplyDeleteI'm 30 next week and still have my restricted license. I've had it since I was 15. procrastination much
ReplyDeleteI have moments like this all the time, just with different things - I hope I still feel like that when I'm 80 :)
ReplyDeletegreat picture!
Love this picture and definitely agree with you- I can't believe I have so much responsibility on a daily basis!!
