dreams

i want to buy a beautiful, little house,

have martha stewart come clean it every week,

have sarah richardson and tommy smythe renovate and decorate it for me,

bring martha back to help me cultivate a beautiful garden,

and have ina garten throw a housewarming party to celebrate.

...or i could just steal all their talent and money and learn to do these things for myself!

ivy, the birthday girl

my little sister, ivy, turned 19 on monday!

we both have mondays off, and levi was in north carolina, so we were able to spend the whole day together. we didn't really do much, but we somehow managed to have A LOT of fun.

we did all the things that make a day good:

1. we ate good food.

2. we shopped.

3. we tried on clothes we couldn't afford just for fun.

4. we drank good coffee.

5. we talked.

6. and talked.

7. and talked.

8. we discussed the merits of beards.

9. and we laughed.

10. and ate some more...

i think my favorite part of the day was laying out by the fountain at fashion island in the sunshine. it was so pretty and warm... you couldn't help but feel content.

her birthday present still hasn't arrived in the mail yet, but this is what i bought for her:

it's a 5-year diary that asks one question every day. i bought one for myself too, so that we can do them together!

happy birthday, ivy! thank you for letting me spend your day with you! i love you!!!

**update: the diaries are available at anthropologie. i bought mine on amazon for cheaper, but they're really expensive on amazon now.

friend date

stacey and i got together on saturday while levi was out of town.

we had SO much fun together... as usual. we're so comfortable with each other and so similar! it's really nice to have someone who understands me so well. too bad she lives in chicago.

on our date, we...

...went shopping (browsing) at anthropologie,

...looked in some other shops,

...visited the puppies at the pet store,

...ate chocolates,

...had delicious mexican food for dinner at jalapeños,

...and shared these desserts at roy's:

oh yum.

we were the last ones to leave the restaurant around midnight... then we sat in the car and talked for awhile. i didn't get home 'til after 1:00!

i love that girl.

good.

i feel really excited about life today. i'm not sure why... but who cares? i love it!

it's spring.

the sun is shining.

the sky is blue.

my husband is back from his trip, & i no longer have to worry about him being on an airplane without me!

i got to see stacey this weekend (more on that later).

i have a phone date with camilla today.

i'm making plans with jenny.

my sister's birthday was yesterday, and we had the best day together (more on that later too).

the dishes are almost almost done.

i got to do a wee bit of shopping over the weekend.

and i started playing tiny wings on my iphone!

life is just good right now. i'm going to enjoy this feeling while it lasts!

on friday, levi and i received THE BEST thank you letter in response to a thank you card in response to a wedding gift...from a friend.

i'm not sure i do.

anyway, it was too good to not share:
