Portlandia!

It's finally time to talk about Portland. We've been home for almost a week now, and I'm finally starting to feel ready to process the whole trip. I have NEVER done so much in such a short period of time. It felt like we were there for several weeks instead of just a few days! Our trip was incredible. It was fun. It was emotional. It was enlightening. I got to see so many new places and learn so many new things... and drink so much coffee!

Levi grew up just outside of Portland in Lake Oswego, so it was great to finally get to see him in his hometown. It's amazing how you can know someone for so long and still have more to learn about them! I like that Levi and I will never be done learning about each other. Life would get boring otherwise.

So. Since we did so much, and I took about 500,000 pictures, I'm going to dedicate the next week or two to Portland... hopefully, you like Portland. A lot.

On our first night, we arrived at the Heathman Hotel. Levi's company hosted us there for two nights before we moved onto our friends' house (this was a work trip for Levi). It was fantastic and very swanky. We got to sleep on a king size Tempurpedic mattress. HEAVEN. Waking up and NOT feeling all creaky and achy was awesome! We need a new mattress...

After checking out our room and celebrating the ginormous closet (a heck of a lot bigger than our ultra-tiny closet), we headed down to the hotel bar for some dinner. I was famished, so I ordered two entrées... then I ordered dessert... and asked for it to come out first. Of course, after I got about 1/4 of the way through my first entrée, I was stuffed. Fortunately, the kitchen forgot about the second one. My eyes are always much hungrier than my stomach. :)
