  11. celebration! what a good way to start off the dancing after the obligatory dances with mother of the groom and father of the bride, etc.

  12. Hmm... Hey Ya by Outkast, Switch by Will Smith ( a guilty pleasure :), Jungle Boogie, Let's stay together by Al Green, Joy of my Life by John Fogerty, Heavenly Day by Patti Griffin.

Have fun... I can't believe the wedding is in just a few days!

  13. i was going to say I don't feel like dancing by the scissor sisters but someone already said it. definitely go with that one.

the next best is come on eileen. everyone gets in a circle and does leg kicks during "hey come on eileen toora" - no trust me, it's so fun!

  14. 'oxford coma' by the vampire weekend is great
i also love anything by sweet (think 'ballroom blitz')

jet's 'are you gonna be my girl' is also very good
oh! robert randolph and the family band has some awesome tunes as well, try ' i need more love'.

this reminds me of our awesome playlist that we never played and that got lost right after the wedding... i had hand picked every single song from it... so sad

  15. Right now (and don't kill me!), I'm a major fan of "The Time" by Black Eyed Peas. And anything by Ke$ha.

  16. Yay!! Thank you for posting this! I'm having the same problem deciding! Too many to choose from. You'll need to let us know what you decide.

  17. Africa by Toto is kind of a favorite of mine forever.

  18. i usually love a good mix of fun oldies (that ALL of your guests will know and want to dance to), and favorite songs from the 80's-90's (you know, songs everyone our age would be excited to dance to). a couple weeks ago i went to a fun wedding with a big mix of music and the favorites turned out to be old-school michael jackson and the black eyed peas' "i got a feeling." i'm so sick of that black eyed peas song, but when it came on at the wedding it was just Perfect!

    good luck!

  19. The look of love by dusty springfield...I've already decided that that is going to be my first dance at my wedding :)

  20. My wedding was dominated by Rod Stewart, Michael Jackson, and the soundtrack to Moulin Rouge.

  21. You Make My Dreams by Hall & Oates - played it at our wedding, it was a blast!

  22. jack johnsons' "better together"
that was the first dance at my wedding :)

  23. At Last by Etta Jones! Love!

  24. Slow and pretty:
Swept Away (Sentimental Version) - The Avett Brothers
Easy - Faith No More's version of the Commodores song

    Fast and fun:
Dancing Late At Night - Jonathan Richman & The Modern Lovers
Are You Gonna Be My Girl - Jet

    Have fun at your wedding!

  25. Quando Quando Quando (Michael Bublé - Nelly Furtado)

  26. The Mister and I got married in September and our first dance was "I Could Hold You In My Arms" by Ray LaMontagne (long, but we had people join us on the dance floor after a couple minutes.) Don't Stop Believin' by Journey is always a good one...probably one of my favorite moments of our wedding was when that song came on and literally 50 or 60 people got in a big circle and sang together... Mix it up a lot, our DJ played a mix of stuff from an iPod and old records from the 60's and 70's and everyone had a good time.

  27. For a Slow dance song with ur lovuh:
    Gambler- by Fun.

    Up beat dance song:
Starz in their Eyes- By Just Jack.

    those never fail;D

  28. marry me by train is probably the cutest/cheesiest song ever.
    also today by joshua radin
